I’m forty years old, and I’m trying to live in a genuine way. Anyone who’s done this will tell you that it’s harder than it sounds.
I’ve spent most of my life in academia, but I don’t consider myself an academic. I have a Ph.D. in English Literature, and I’ve taught courses at several universities; I’ve also been a clerk at a comic book shop, the night manager of a 24-hour deli, and a stay-at-home father. I’ve wanted to be a writer since I was nine, but I’ve never done so professionally.
I’m a geek in the worst sense of the word: roleplaying games, MMORPGs, MU*s, you name it and I’ve done it. I enjoy fantasy fiction, history, poetry, early modern literature, walks in the woods, gardens and baseball. I am compelled by erotica in all its flavors, and my sexual tastes run towards dominance and submission. Time permitting, I’m not a bad cook.
This will be a journal about my writing, my thoughts and my pleasures– the cordial drop in my cup of life. Enjoy.
